Depending on the production season, figs are referred to as lampos (May and June) and vindimos (July/September). It is a fruit with well-defined organoleptic characteristics, offering great nutritional qualities, being rich in vitamins B and C, and in minerals (especially calcium, phosphorus, and potassium).

Cinnamon presents a warm, pleasantly sweet, yet intense aroma. Its flavor is warm and fragrant, recalling cloves and citrus. It has a light brown color with hints of bronze. For 200 years, the Portuguese controlled the monopoly on the commercialization of this spice, which originates from Sri Lanka.

Persimmon and Orange Extra Jam with Walnut and Muscatel

The persimmon tree is native to China, although it is much more popular in Japan. In Portugal, two main varieties are found: the red one and the orange one. The red variety is the most consumed, and when ripe, the fruit is quite sweet and soft, requiring careful handling during transport. The second variety is much firmer, requiring less care during handling. Its fruit, known as persimmon or Japanese apricot, contains a high water content and is low in calories, with vitamins, proteins, iron, and calcium being part of its composition.

Muscatel from the Douro is made from the Muscatel Galego grape variety, originating from the Douro Valley, which represents the largest area of Muscatel vines in the Douro. It is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
