Description

A Christmas Gift with the Sweet Taste of Portugal

The PACK 3 Honey – Gift from Portugal celebrates the Portuguese beekeeping tradition and the flavors that warm Christmas tables. Presented in a special edition with an elegant golden design and honeycomb pattern, this set brings together three 80g tubes with distinct profiles: Eucalyptus Honey with Dried Pear, Rosemary Honey with Apple and Cinnamon, and Serra da Estrela Heather Honey with Elderberry. Each combination was created to highlight the character of Portuguese harvests and transform simple gestures into moments of sharing.

More than a gift, it is a tribute to beekeeping, orchards, and the mountains of Portugal. In each tube, you can recognize the patient work of the bees, the rhythm of the flowers, and the wisdom of those who harvest and blend with respect for nature. A gift that brings authenticity to the table — perfect for those who value what is simple, genuine, and made with soul.

Tradition and Innovation in an Original Format

The meia.dúzia® honey tubes are inspired by traditional preservation methods and offer practicality without losing artisanal charm. Made from 99.7% recyclable aluminum, they protect honey from light and air, preserving its aromas, textures, and natural properties for longer. The “open, use, and close” system prevents waste and simplifies serving — from toast to festive desserts.

This format combines sustainability, authenticity, and a contemporary design that evokes honeycombs. It’s the perfect way to taste, gift, and share typically Portuguese flavors while maintaining the freshness of each harvest and honoring a craft that has endured for generations.

The Flavors That Bring Christmas to Life

This pack gathers three interpretations of honey that tell stories of Portuguese regions and ingredients. The balsamic character of eucalyptus, the floral delicacy of rosemary, and the robustness of the Serra da Estrela heather are enhanced with dried pear, apple and cinnamon, and elderberry. These profiles pair beautifully with cheeses, rustic bread, desserts, and teas — an invitation to create moments of comfort and celebration.

Each recipe is prepared in small batches, respecting the natural profile of the honey and enhancing aromatic notes that recall Portuguese winter kitchens: cinnamon, ripe fruit, wild berries, and countryside touches. Three ways to taste Portugal in one gift.

Eucalyptus Honey with Dried Pear

Light brown and subtly aromatic, this eucalyptus honey offers a smooth, enveloping flavor. The addition of dried pear — a traditional specialty from São Bartolomeu pear trees in central Portugal — brings a natural sweetness and chewy texture, resulting in a perfectly balanced fusion of silky honey and notes of ripe fruit with a light balsamic finish.

Versatile and comforting on cold mornings, it sweetens tea or milk, enhances natural yogurt, and pairs beautifully with cured and fresh cheeses. It’s delicious on pancakes, crepes, and scones, in bruschettas with rustic bread, in salads with nuts, or drizzled over roasted vegetables. Also excellent for post-workout energy — a simple, genuinely Portuguese pleasure.

Rosemary Honey with Apple and Cinnamon

Harvested from the rosemary fields of Serra da Malcata, this honey has a light color and a delicate floral fragrance. The dehydrated apple — crisp and unsweetened — adds freshness and texture, while cinnamon wraps it all in warm notes reminiscent of festive pastries. A combination that evokes cozy kitchens and the aroma of traditional Portuguese Christmas desserts.

Perfect as a topping for yogurt, waffles, and rabanadas (Portuguese-style French toast), it also adds refinement to cheese boards and pairs beautifully with pork in sweet-and-sour sauces. In teas, smoothies, or Christmas cocktails, it lends fragrance and smoothness — a honey that fills the home with warmth and invites sharing.

Serra da Estrela Heather Honey with Elderberry

Collected from the heather that colors the Serra da Estrela mountains, this honey reveals an intense, less-sweet, and deeply energetic profile. The addition of elderberry — rich in polyphenols — gives it a purplish hue and wild berry flavor, surprising the palate with depth and elegance. A true mountain honey for those who appreciate authentic and vibrant tastes.

Excellent with soft cheeses, meat glazes, or autumn salads with a hint of vinaigrette. It enhances grilled shrimp, complements ice creams, and adds sophistication to dark cocktails. In hot tea, it releases its full strength — a warm embrace from the mountains on cold days.

Craftsmanship and Sustainability

Each recipe is prepared in small batches, respecting the rhythm of the flowers, the harvests, and the fruit dehydration process. With no artificial coloring or unnecessary preservatives, it highlights the purity of honey and the identity of its ingredients. The result is an honest product with a natural texture and flavor true to the land it comes from.

The 99.7% recyclable packaging reflects a commitment to the environment. Choosing this pack also means choosing responsibility: less waste, durable materials, and a design that protects both the content and the planet.

Design and Christmas Spirit

The Christmas-inspired box combines matte black with golden details and a hexagonal pattern reminiscent of honeycombs. The result is an elegant, contemporary object that stands out on the table and under the tree — blending sophistication and warmth in a distinctly Portuguese aesthetic.

It’s the perfect gift for family, friends, or partners who appreciate presents with meaning. A tasteful gesture that brings the sweetness of Portugal to those we cherish most, keeping traditions alive.

The Perfect Christmas Gift

The PACK 3 Honey – Gift from Portugal combines authenticity, elegance, and flavor in equal measure. Three 80g tubes, three complementary aromatic profiles, and one shared mission: to celebrate Christmas with the best that Portugal has to offer.

Offer a gift that speaks the language of sharing — simple, genuine, and full of identity. An invitation to discover, one spoonful at a time, the sweetness of our land.

Discover the Origins and Identity of the Ingredients

The PACK 3 Honey – Gift from Portugal brings together harvests and knowledge that tell the story of Portugal’s rich beekeeping diversity. Each tube is born from the meeting of distinct landscapes — from the coastline to the mountain valleys — and ingredients that are part of our culinary memory. It is the sweetness of the land transformed into traditions shared at Christmas.

More than a gift, this pack is a sensory journey through territories, flowers, and orchards. The bees of the Apis mellifera iberica species collect nectar from unique blooms; the fruit is carefully prepared and dried; the spices evoke ancient stories. This is how an authentic collection is created, faithful to the very best Portugal has to offer.

Eucalyptus Honey from the Portuguese Coast

Collected from the nectar of eucalyptus flowers along the Portuguese coastline, this honey presents a light amber tone, an open aroma, and a subtle balsamic profile. The Atlantic breeze and the abundance of eucalyptus groves give it a clean, elegant character, ideal for both sweet and savory combinations.

It’s a silky, long-flavored honey that enhances yogurts, cheeses, and teas, while also serving as a balanced base for sweet-and-sour sauces and glossy finishes on grilled dishes. A Portuguese table classic, born between sea breeze and woodland.

Dried Pear from S. Bartolomeu

The dried pear used comes from the São Bartolomeu variety, cultivated in orchards of central Portugal — especially in Oliveira do Hospital, Seia, Tábua, Nelas, Gouveia, Mangualde, Santa Comba Dão, and Viseu. Harvest takes place in August and begins an artisanal process perfected over generations.

The pears are peeled by hand and placed in solar dryers, where they remain for about six days, concentrating sweetness, color, and aroma. Once dried and flattened, they gain an elastic texture and characteristic flavor, making them the perfect companion for eucalyptus honey and homemade-style recipes.

Rosemary Honey – Serra da Malcata

On the lower slopes of Serra da Malcata, between Penamacor and Sabugal, the rosemary fields offer a generous bloom. From it comes a clear, delicate, and highly aromatic honey, collected in an area of great biodiversity, where wildflowers and heather contribute to an unmistakable floral profile.

Portuguese rosemary, recognized by its violet or whitish spikes, is a highly melliferous plant. In favorable years, hives produce remarkable quantities of this sweet, perfumed nectar that adds elegance to desserts, cheeses, and winter beverages.

Portuguese Dehydrated Apple

The apple used is of Portuguese origin and undergoes controlled drying until reaching about 2% humidity, with no added sugar, colorings, or preservatives. Cut into thin slices, it preserves its fruity character and light texture, offering natural crispness to the rosemary honey.

The result is a fresh and aromatic touch that evokes warm ovens and homemade recipes, adding contrast and brightness to pancakes, rabanadas (Portuguese-style French toast), cheese boards, and hot drinks.

Cinnamon – A Memory of the Portuguese Spice Routes

Brought to Europe through Portuguese maritime routes, cinnamon became a constant presence in traditional confectionery. Its warm fragrance, associated with winter desserts, recalls convent kitchens, slow cooking, and family gatherings.

In harmony with rosemary honey and apple, it adds a spiced depth and comforting finish — the touch that turns every spoonful into a moment of warmth and tradition.

Heather Honey from Serra da Estrela

At the high altitudes of Serra da Estrela, heather species such as queiró, torga, and white heather offer an intense nectar, very dark in color and with wild notes. The Apis mellifera iberica bees collect here a honey of strong personality, marked by slight astringency and a robust body reminiscent of the mountain landscape.

It is a less sweet and deeply energetic honey, ideal for pairings that require character: soft cheeses, red wine sauces for meats, vinaigrettes, and chocolate desserts. A true portrait of the mountains in their purest form.

Elderberry – Varosa Region

Elderberry grows spontaneously across Portugal, particularly in the northern Varosa region (Tarouca, Armamar, Lamego, Tabuaço, and Moimenta da Beira). Its dark red berries have strong coloring power and an aromatic profile reminiscent of wild berries.

When combined with heather honey, they lend bluish-violet tones and a refined fruity note that extends the finish. The result is dense, sophisticated, and distinctly Portuguese — perfect for cold days and moments of sharing.
